Chilean mining giant Codelco said on Saturday that it will temporarily halt the expansion of its flagship mine, El Teniente, and called the move necessary to combat the rapidly spreading new pneumonia epidemic.

Lundin Gold Inc. said on Sunday that the production of the Fruta del Norte gold mine in Ecuador has restarted and that port transportation of concentrate will resume in the next few days.
