BHP Billiton (BHP) has reached an agreement with Norilsk Nickel’s Australian subsidiary to acquire its Honeymoon Well nickel project in Western Australia. The Honeymoon Well nickel project includes the Honeymoon Well development project and a 50% interest in the Albion Downs North and Jericho exploration joint venture. BHP Nickel West currently owns a 50% interest in the Albion Downs North and Jericho exploration joint venture
Buckreef project of Tanzania Gold Company started commercial production
Tanzania Gold Corporation announced that its Oxidation Ore Processing Plant at the Buckreef project in central and northern Tanzania has been commercialized. The construction of the plant ended on May 28 and is currently operating in two 12-hour shifts each day. The Tanzania Gold Company plans to start a new construction project in the fourth quarter of this year to increase the processing capacity of the processing plant by 200%.
